Brands Under Attack — August 2026

Our new “Brands Under Attack” Report is out, ranking the top brands facing narrative scrutiny:
- In August 2026 we tracked 69,560 boycott posts across 12 platforms, generating 5.6 billion impressions and more than 40 distinct narrative clusters.
- Target was named more often than any other brand — but FIFA reached more than ten times as many people with a fraction of the noise.
- The month's most viral boycott wasn't American: a single frozen bank account in Indonesia produced roughly 2,200 interactions per post, four times the next brand, and lost 80% of its volume within three days.
- The loudest brands land the least — engagement per post, not volume, is where organized outrage shows up first, and four brands were already flashing that signal in August.
- And the biggest single theme of the month wasn't a company at all.
